Today kangaroos raced along in the fields beside me as I rode. What a special scene cycling at 30 kph and herds of kangaroos hopping beside in the grass just as fast. The groups are called mobs. A kangaroo can hop at up to 60kmh (40mph). It can also leap over obstacles up to 3m (10ft) high. Because of the unusual shape of its legs and its bulky tail a kangaroo can't walk or move backwards very easily nor can they swim. Amazing animals. Plus Im making friends with the local Angus. They like Canadians I think.Although its a little unsettling as I stopped here for a quick bathroom break with all these eyes watching me after running up close

Love the photo of the herd of cattle staring at you. Bet you talked to them too, I would have.

                   My Journey

I am a fire captain and cancer survivor.
I have now cycled around  the earth  by bicycle for cancer charity, but my journey is not over. I followed the rules of Guinness global 0circumnavigation. Same bike, same direction, cross two antipodal points, the equator and cover at least 29,000 km.  My final legs were crossing Australia north to south and east to west across the deserts bringing the total countries crossed to fifteen and a distance of 29,000 km over 10 years. The journey now continues to the most desolate and highest points of the earth.  email:
