This is the climb up Sydney Harbour Bridge. You get all geared up in climbing harness even take a breathalyser go through a training session and off you go with a guide that climbs right up the girders to the top with you. It really shakes when trains go over, It is also the world's widest long-span bridge, at 48.8 m (160 ft) wide, until construction of the new Port Mann Bridge in Vancouver was completed in 2012.The arch has a span of 504 m (1,654 ft) and its summit is 134 m (440 ft) above mean sea level; I could talk all day about the bridge but I will say I was glad it had 6 million rivets holding it together. They have to take 8-10 people a week down that freeze up and get scared climbing it. A fast approaching thunderstorm sped things up at the top.

                   My Journey

I am a fire captain and cancer survivor.
I have now cycled around  the earth  by bicycle for cancer charity, but my journey is not over. I followed the rules of Guinness global 0circumnavigation. Same bike, same direction, cross two antipodal points, the equator and cover at least 29,000 km.  My final legs were crossing Australia north to south and east to west across the deserts bringing the total countries crossed to fifteen and a distance of 29,000 km over 10 years. The journey now continues to the most desolate and highest points of the earth.  email:
