Climbing mountain peaks on Spanish Islands off Africa is like a trek to Machu Picchu. People lived here thousands of years ago due to the climate and springs/cenotes for water. They had no power, no cell phones no medicines yet were an amazing civilization.. Stone trails lined with olive groves, lemon trees, almond trees and limestone sheer cliffs. Passing ancient villages as you climb. Mountain goats and of course always a couple jack asses on the trail. The abandoned castles are amazing feats of construction thousands of feet up and built thousands of years ago in 700 to 900 AD. The first pictures are the destination peak... as I promised to climb .....the rest are the climb and the summit highest peak in the Balearic Sea. Following the Spanish coastline.
The next peak will be Jungfrau in Switzerland, the highest in Europe.

                   My Journey

I am a fire captain and cancer survivor.
I have now cycled around  the earth  by bicycle for cancer charity, but my journey is not over. I followed the rules of Guinness global 0circumnavigation. Same bike, same direction, cross two antipodal points, the equator and cover at least 29,000 km.  My final legs were crossing Australia north to south and east to west across the deserts bringing the total countries crossed to fifteen and a distance of 29,000 km over 10 years. The journey now continues to the most desolate and highest points of the earth.  email:
