In three weeks I will attempt a full Ironman. Its 2.4 mile (3.86 km) open water swim, 112 mile(180 km) bike, 26.2 mile(42.20 km)run. Dehydration , cramping and bonking from no food stores left are the biggest obstacles not just the marathon distances of each sport. The average male competitor will require 11,000 calories of fuel and about 25 litres of water and electrolytes. As far as food thats 110 Clif Shots; or 45 PowerBars; or 88 bananas.
My goal is to raise $10,000 for Police/Firefighters PTSD

                   My Journey

I am a fire captain and cancer survivor.
I have now cycled around  the earth  by bicycle for cancer charity, but my journey is not over. I followed the rules of Guinness global 0circumnavigation. Same bike, same direction, cross two antipodal points, the equator and cover at least 29,000 km.  My final legs were crossing Australia north to south and east to west across the deserts bringing the total countries crossed to fifteen and a distance of 29,000 km over 10 years. The journey now continues to the most desolate and highest points of the earth.  email:
