Australia: The Tornado

11/1/2015

I entered my 3rd and last state in Australia, Victoria. They have wine and skiing it says "you'll love every piece" Well I didn't like the first piece.First I had a flat, then the storm of storms blew in. I hid under this overpass powerful strikes of lightning thunder and torrential rain.It was a little unsettling when I actually saw a tornado powerful enough to suck up cows. I crawled right up under the slope you see in the overpass and wedged in a tight crack between the bridge and the road to take a picture.Lots of creepy spiders up there crawling around. I lay there hoping the tornado was not coming my way and take me of to Oz.

                   My Journey

I am a fire captain and cancer survivor.
I have now cycled around  the earth  by bicycle for cancer charity, but my journey is not over. I followed the rules of Guinness global 0circumnavigation. Same bike, same direction, cross two antipodal points, the equator and cover at least 29,000 km.  My final legs were crossing Australia north to south and east to west across the deserts bringing the total countries crossed to fifteen and a distance of 29,000 km over 10 years. The journey now continues to the most desolate and highest points of the earth.  email:
